Technology Will Save US!
This Decoy isn’t about whether technology can ‘Help’ us solve ‘Our Problem’ or Not?:
This is rather about believing that in the void of ‘sufficient progress’ with Solving The Problem, and our now dire situation today, ‘we’ are hoping future technology will be the vital missing piece of our Hopeless plan today.
In presenting The Problem as a Carbon Emissions ‘One’, it then becomes ‘A problem‘ seemingly suited to that future ‘Technological’ solution.
At a macro eco-system level there is evidence of this unbounded Hope in belief that Geo-engineering could ultimately provide humans with systems that take over ‘management’ of the entire Earth’s eco-system, from Nature!
Setting aside the anthropocentric arrogance, the level of optimism, and belief in human technological endeavor, is inspirational and seducing in its connection to seemingly simple, global solution. It also supports the historical human journey to Exploit and Dominate: Now, infront of us stands this huge challenge from Nature, and being ‘our’ Final Quest for Ultimate Human Power. We don’t understand that ‘Without Nature We are Nothing, and that Nature IS The Highest Power!

No doubt Technology, and new breakthroughs can help, but a stated elsewhere in my communication, ‘THE problem’ today isn’t just one of ‘Carbon Emissions‘, it’s the exponentially rising mass rape and depletion of ALL the natural, bio-regenerative resources on our planet.
One of the fundamental laws of nature, is that these resources will always be finite, and all those that live on the planet need to do so within the context of limited resource.
Any technology solutions have to comprehend this. Solving an ‘Emissions problem’ using an inordinate amount of another scarce resource to do it, could quite well not be solving the problem, just shifting the focus of the regenerative resource depletion.
I believed that technology could have a vital role in helping transform human behaviour towards a new ideology that is aligned with a finite planet. However while society is still in a mode of wanting pleasurable excess, and ignoring our limits, technology that seemingly imprisons us in constraint by Nature will be resisted at all costs.
